Mae Bag

Beautiful bag. Amazing quality.

When this bag arrived, I literally thought I was sent the wrong product. I wanted to love it, but I just can’t get over how *bad* the strap on this bag is. It’s way too thick, where it makes the bag look uneven, frumpy, off centered, and not in a good way. The bag also doesn’t slouch or rest like in the photos. It’s an unflattering rectangle shape, and even worse, the handle doesn’t hold its shape but rather droops to one side. I get that the leather may need time to soften/relax, but it is already pretty soft, so I’d be surprised if the bag takes on a better shape. Finally, the bag isn’t long enough to fit over the shoulder. I know it’s not advertised as a shoulder bag, but the strap is just so poorly designed that it even looks weird to hold in one’s hand as intended.

I’m hoping to exchange for the clementine. Hopefully The Horse team can work something out.

The zipper placement is awkward; for the end tab (which is good to have!) to be useful, it sticks out oddly. With the limited handle drop height, the zipper makes it hard to get into the bag. The size is excellent; I can fit everything I want to in the bag, but, I do wish it had the magnetic flap closure of the Clementine! Then the handle height would not be as much of an issue.

This bag is simply lovely.
